Direct-Indirect Speech - Imperative Sentences
Rule No. 4
नकारात्मक Imperative वाक्य में, ‘Do not’ को हटा दिया जाता है और वाक्य का Indirect Speech बनाने के लिए ‘Not to' का इस्तेमाल किया जाता है। यदि हम नकारात्मक Imperative वाक्य Reported Verb के ’said to’ के स्थान पर ‘forbade’ का उपयोग करते हैं, तो हमें वाक्य में फिर से ’नहीं’ का उपयोग नहीं करना चाहिए क्योंकि ‘forbade’ का अर्थ स्वयं नकारात्मक है।
In Negative Imperative Sentence, 'Do Not' is removed and 'Not to' is used to make the Indirect Speech of the Sentence. If we use 'forbade' in place of 'said to' of the reported verb of negative imperative sentence, then we should not use 'not' again in the sentence because the meaning of ‘forbade' itself is negative.
उपरोक्त नियमों के अलावा, पहले वर्णित सभी नियम Imperative वाक्यों के लिए भी लागू होते हैं।
Besides the above Rules, all the Rules described earlier are applicable to Imperative Sentences also.

| अध्यापक ने राज से कहा, "बेंच पर खड़े हो जाओ ।" | The teacher said to Raj, "Stand up on the bench." | The teacher ordered Raj to stand up on the bench. | अध्यापक ने राज को आदेश दिया कि बेंच पर खड़ा हो जाये । |
| उसने अपने मित्र से कहा, "झूठ मत बोलो ।" | She said to her friend, "Do not tell a lie." | She advised her friend not to tell a lie. | उसने अपने मित्र को सलाह दी कि झूठ मत बोलें । |
| सीमा ने अपने पति से कहा, "झूठ मत बोलो ।" | Seema said to her husband, "Do not tell a lie. | Seema warned her husband not to tell a lie. | सीमा ने अपने पति को चेतावनी दी कि झूठ मत बोलो । |
| पूनम ने नेहा से कहा, "एक गिलास दूध लीजिये ।" | Poonam said to Neha, "Have a glass of milk." | Poonam asked Neha to have a glass of milk. | पूनम ने नेहा से पूछा की एक गिलास दूध लें । |
| माली ने बच्चों से कहा, "दोबारा फूल मत तोड़ना ।" | The gardener said to children, "Don't pluck the flowers again." | The gardener warned children not to pluck the flowers again. | माली ने बच्चों को चेतावनी दी कि दोबारा फूल मत तोड़ना । |
