Types of Consonants
हमने पहले स्वरों पर कुछ प्रकाश डाला है और हम जानते हैं कि 'a,e,i,o,u' स्वर के रूप में जानै जातै हैं। अँग्रेज़ी वर्णमाला के
अन्य सभी अक्षर जो स्वर नहीं हैं उन्हें व्यंजन कहा जाता है।
We have shed some light on Vowels earlier, and we know that letters, 'a,e,i,o,u' are known as Vowels. All the other letters of the English Alphabet which are not vowels are called Consonants.
व्यंजन अक्षर बोलते समय, गले से आने वाले हवा का प्रवाह दाँत, जीभ, होंठ या स्वरतंत्र से बाधित होता है। वह एक सेकेंड काअंश हवा की बाधा व्यंजन को अपनी
आवाज़ देता है।
ध्यान रखें कि अंग्रेजी भाषा में नियमों के कुछ अपवाद हैं। मोटे तौर पर अक्षरों का उच्चारण बोलना इस बात पर निर्भर करता है कि आपका मुंह उच्चारण के लिए कैसे हिलता है।
While speaking the Consonant letters, the airflow coming from the throat while speaking is restricted by the teeth,
tongue, lips or through the vocal chord. That stopping of sound by the airflow for a fraction of a second gives the letters
its sound.
Keep in mind that there are some exceptions to the rules in the English language. Broadly speaking the pronunciation
of the letters depends on how your mouth moves to pronounce.
There are three different types of Consonant sounds or sound movements, which are as follows:-
तीन अलग-अलग प्रकार की व्यंजन ध्वनियाँ हैं जो इस प्रकार हैं:
| 1 | गुन्जित व्यंजन ध्वनि - मतलब जिसे उच्चारण करते समय गले में स्पंदन पैदा करते हैं। | Voiced Consonant sound - Means that vocal cord is used to produce a vibration or humming sound in the throat at the time of saying it. |
| 2 | अगुन्जित व्यंजन ध्वनि - मतलब आवाज मुँह से आती है और गले में स्पंदन पैदा नही करते हैं जैसे p का उच्चारण। | Voice-less Consonant sound - Means sound comes from the mouth area and throat vibrations are not produced. |
| 3 | सीटी सी आवाज़ वाले व्यंजन - यह हवा को दांतो से बाहर धकेलने पर उत्पन्न होती है जैसे (ssssss) फुफ्कारने की आवाज़, (zzzzzz) भीन्नभिनाने की आवाज़ या चुप कराते वक्त (shhhhh) की आवाज़। | Sibilant Consonant sound - It is produced by forcing air out towards teeth like a hissing sound (ssssss), a buzzing sound (zzzzzz) or one sounds to keep others quiet (shhhhh). |
| नोट करें व प्रत्येक अक्षर के विभिन्न स्थानों पर आवाज़ में अंतर को अनुभव करें। शब्दकोशों में अक्षर के सही उच्चारण को दो स्लेश (/ /) में दर्शाया जाता है। यह एक सिंबल है जो इंगित करता है की उस अक्षर का उच्चारण क्या है। | ||
| Note and feel the difference in sounds of each consonant at different places. In dictionaries, the correct pronunciation of the words is described between two slash marks (/ /). It is a symbol to refer to the pronunciation of that letter or sound. | ||
व्यंजन के उच्चारण को समझने के लिए, सबसे पहले हम कुछ विशेष व्यंजनों (f, j, k, p, r & t) के सही उच्चारण के बारे में जानेंगे। इसके बाद हम अलग-अलग स्थानों पर या किसी शब्द में विभिन्न वर्णों के साथ कुछ विशिष्ट व्यंजनों (f, j, k, p, r & t) के विभिन्न उच्चारणों के बारे में जानेंगे। उदाहरण के लिए, अक्षर 'c' दोनों 'क' और 'स' ध्वनि बना सकता है जैसे Cat में (क)और City में (स)। यह एक शब्द में अक्षरों के स्थान पर भी निर्भर करता है।
To understand the pronunciation of consonants, first of all, we will learn about the correct pronunciation of certain Consonants - (f, j, k, p, r & t) After that, we will learn about the different pronunciation of the Consonants (f, j, k, p, r & t) at various places or with varying alphabets in a word. For example, the letter 'C' can make both 'K' and 'C' sound like (K) in Cat and (S) in City. It also depends on the location of the letters in a word.
यह तय करने का कोई नियम नहीं है कि किस तरह के समान अक्षरों का इस्तेमाल कब करना चाहिए। यह आदत और लगातार दोहराने से बस आपको समझ आएगा। इसलिए चिंता करने की कोई बात नहीं, बस आगे बढ़ो और बोलना शुरू करो।
There is no set rule to decide when to use which similar sounding letters. It will come to you merely by habit and continuous use. So nothing to worry, head-on and start speaking.
