रूल न. 6 का सन्दर्भ लीजिए - जब किसी शब्द में दो या दो से अधिक vowel हो और शब्द के अंत में vowel 'e' हो तब अंतिम vowel 'e' silent रहता है और Vowel 'e' से पहले आए व्यंजन से पहले वाले Vowel का उच्चारण लम्बा होता है। अंतिम Vowel 'e' से पहले आए व्यंजन से पहले वाला स्वर यदि 'i' है तो उच्चारण 'आइ' होता है ...। 
अपवाद - जब Vowel 'i' के बाद व्यंजन 'nd' या 'ght' आए तो भी Vowel 'i' का उच्चारण 'आइ' होता है।

Rule No. 6.
