Positive Degree.
सकारात्मक डिग्री एक विशेषण का मूल रूप है। जैसे उपरोक्त उदाहरण में "वह एक बोल्ड लड़की है", 'बोल्ड' शब्द विशेषण का एक मूल / सरल रूप है। इसे Absolute Degree के रूप में भी जाना जाता है। इसका उपयोग संज्ञा के सामान्य गुणों का वर्णन करने के लिए किया जाता है।
Positive degree is the basic form of an adjective. Like in the above example "She is a bold girl", the word 'bold' is a basic/simple form of the adjective. It is also known as Absolute Degree. It is used to describe the general properties of a noun.
Look at the examples:
| वह एक लंबी लड़की है। | She is a tall girl. |
| वह एक बुद्धिमान लड़का है। | He is an intelligent boy. |
| यह एक काली बिल्ली है। | It is a black cat. |
| मेरे पास एक बड़ा घर है। | I have a big house. |
Positive Degree का दूसरा उपयोग दो संज्ञाओं की समानता दर्शाना है। यहां हम adjective के मूल रूप से पहले और बाद में 'as'(as + adjective + as) का उपयोग करते हैं ।
The second use of Positive Degree is to show equality/similarity of two nouns. Here we use 'as' before and after the basic form of the adjective (as + adjective + as).
Look at the examples:
| वर्तिका उतनी लंबी है जितनी कनिका | Vartika is as tall as Kanika. |
| काव्या उतनी चालक है जितनी वेदिका | Kavya is as clever as Vedika. |
| मेरा घर उतना बड़ा है जितना हसमुख का | My house is as big as Hasmukh's. |
| अद्वय उतना बहादुर है जितना शेर | Advay is as brave as a lion. |
Positive Degree का दूसरा उपयोग दो संज्ञाओं की असमानता दर्शाना है। यहां हम adjective के मूल रूप से पहले 'so' और बाद में 'as' (so + adjective + as) के उपयोग को वरीयता देते हैं। नोट: विशेषण का रूप नहीं बदलता है और हमेशा मूल रूप में रहता है।
The third use of Positive Degree is to show inequality/dissimilarity of two nouns. Here we prefer to use 'so' before and 'as' after the basic form of the adjective (so + adjective + as).
Look at the examples:
| काव्या उतनी चालक नहीं है जितनी वेदिका | Kavya is not so clever as Vedika. |
| वह अपनी मां की तरह खूबसूरत नहीं है। | She is not so beautiful as her mother. |
| वह समर जितना मजबूत नहीं है। | He is not so strong as Samar. |
| मेरा आम इतना मीठा नहीं है जितना तुम्हारा। | My mango is not so sweet as yours. |
Note: Positive Degree में विशेषण का रूप नहीं बदलता है। यह हमेशा मूल रूप में रहता है।
The adjective in Positive Degree does not change. It always remains in the basic form.
