5. Adverbs of Degree

वे हमें बताएंगे कि किस हद तक action हुआ है और यह सवालों के जवाब देगा: कितना? या कितना कम? और किस हद तक?

Adverbs of Degree will tell us to what extent action has been done and will answer the questions: How much? or How less? and To what extent?

Examples of adverb of degree are: almost, barely, enough, absolutely, fairly, greatly, hardly, quite, scarcely, somewhat, very, almost, moderately, too,partially,perfectly etc.

Points to Remember:

Adverbs of Degree हमेशा क्रिया, विशेषण या उनके द्वारा वर्णित किसी अन्य क्रिया विशेषण से पहले आएंगे। अपवाद शब्द हैं: enough, too and very.

The adverbs of degree will always appear before the verb, adjective or another adverb they describe. Exception words are: enough, too and very.

श्रीधर आज बहुत अच्छी तरह से खेला।	Shridhar played extremely well today. ( modifying adverb, well)
कविता की पेंटिंग बिल्कुल शानदार थी।	Kavita's painting was absolutely spectacular.
अंजू ने शायद ही इंटरव्यू में बात की हो।	Anju hardly spoke in the interview.

Here are few sentence examples of adverbs of degree showing strengths:

श्रीधर आज बहुत अच्छी तरह से खेला।	Shridhar played extremely well today. ( modifying adverb, well)
कविता की पेंटिंग बिल्कुल शानदार थी।	Kavita's painting was absolutely spectacular.
अंजू ने शायद ही इंटरव्यू में बात की हो।	Anju hardly spoke in the interview.
रेकॉर्डिंग करते समय सभी को बिल्कुल शांत रहना है।	While recording everyone has to be absolutely quiet.
सीमा पूरी तरह से अपने स्वयं-सेवक के काम में व्यस्त है।	Seema is completely involved in her charity work.
करण का समुद्र तट की शादी का विचार अविश्वसनीय रूप से रोमांटिक था।	Karan's idea of a beach-side wedding was incredibly romantic.
आर्यन को कुछ भूख लगी थी।	Aryan was somewhat hungry.
बचावकर्ता जल्द से जल्द मिशन शुरू करने के लिए तैयार थे।	The rescuers were quite prepared to start the mission at the earliest.
स्वप्न का वरिष्ठ नागरिकों के लिए क्लब के विचार की बहुत सराहना की गई थी।	Swapan's idea of a club for senior citizens was pretty appreciated.
दृश्य काफी शानदार है।	The view is quite spectacular.
