May

अनुमति: 'May' का उपयोग अनुमति लेने या देने के लिए किया जाता है, जिसका अर्थ है कि कुछ करने की अनुमति मांगना या बात करने की अनुमति देना।

Permission: 'May' is used to seeking or giving permission, meaning asking for permission to do something or allowing to do the thing.

Look at the examples:

क्या मैं यहाँ बैठ सकता हूँ ?	May I sit here?
हां तुम यहाँ बैठ सकते हो।	Yes, you may sit here.
क्या मैं आपकी इजाजत ले सकता हूँ ?	May I take your leave?
क्या मैं उसे तुम्हें घर मिलने के लिये कह सकता हूँ ?	May I ask him to see you at home?
क्या मैं तुम्हारी साइकल उधार ले सकता हूँ ?	May I borrow your cycle?
क्या मैं तुम्हें वहां ख़ड़े होने को कह सकता हूँ ?	May I ask you to stand there?
लड़कियां मध्यावकाश के उपरान्त कंप्यूटर लैब में जा सकती हैं।	Girls may go to the computer lab after recess.
क्या मैं बाहर जाकर खेल सकता हूं?	May I go and play outside ?
अद्वय आप जा सकते हैं और खेलें क्योंकि आपने अपना होमवर्क समाप्त कर लिया है।	Advay you may go and play as you have finished your homework.
अद्वय आप नहीं जा सकते खेलने क्योंकि आपने अपना होमवर्क समाप्त नहीं किया है।	Advay you may not go and play as you haven't finished your homework.
क्या मै आपको बाद में कॉल कर सकता हूँ सर?	May I call you later, sir?
हां, आप 1' बजे के बाद कॉल कर सकते हैं।	Yes, you may call me after 1'oclock.

'May' का उपयोग विनम्र / अनौपचारिक अनुरोध के लिए और कुछ पर टिप्पणी करने के लिए और सुझाव देने के लिए किया जाता है जब कोई अन्य बेहतर विकल्प उपलब्ध नहीं होता है।

'May' is used for polite/informal request and also to remark on something and to offer a suggestion when there is no other better option available.

Look at the examples:

क्या मैं आपसे एक मिनट के लिए बात कर सकता हूँ?	May I speak to you for a minute?
क्या मैं समापन भाषण भी दे दूं?	May I give the concluding speech also?
सर! क्या आज मैं जल्दी जा सकता हूं क्योंकि मुझे अच्छा महसूस नहीं हो रहा है।	Sir! May I go early today as I am not feeling well?
क्या हम आपको नींबू की चाय प्रस्तुत करें या आप नियमित चाय लेना चाहते हैं?	May we offer you lemon tea or you would like to have regular tea?
मैं शायद इस समूह में सबसे कम उम्र का हूँ, लेकिन सीमा मेरी बात सुनेगी, तो क्या मैं उनसे बात कर सकता हूं?	I may be the youngest in this group, but Seema will listen to me, so can I speak to her?
