Might

अनुमति: अनुमति मांगते समय 'Might' को 'May' की तुलना में बहुत औपचारिक और अधिक विनम्र माना जाता है। हम अनुमति मांगते हुए भी 'Might' का उपयोग करते हैं, हालांकि 'May' का उपयोग ज़्यादा common है।

Permission: When asking for permission 'Might' is considered very formal and more polite than 'May'. We use 'Might' while asking for permission also, though the use of 'May'' is more common.

Look at the examples:

क्या मैं तुम्हारी कार उधार ले सकता हूँ ?	Might I borrow your car?
क्या मैं तुम्हारे चैयरमेन से मिल सकता हूँ ?	Might I meet your Chairman?
क्या हम तुम्हारे खाली फ्लैट को 10 दिनों तक इस्तेमाल कर सकते हैं ?	Might we use your vacant flat for ten days?
क्या तुम आज सड़क किनारे झाड़ू लगा सकते हो ?	Might you sweep the roadside today?
मैंने अनुराग से पूछा, क्या कल में उससे आकर मिल सकता हूं।	I asked Anurag, if I might call on him tomorrow.
गोपाल ने अपने बॉस से पूछा था कि क्या वह अपने दौरे को अगले सप्ताह के लिए स्थगित कर सकता है।	Gopal had asked his boss if he might postpone his tour for next week.

विनम्र अनुरोध, रुकावट और परिचय: 'Might' का प्रयोग बहुत विनम्र माना जाता है और हम इसे किसी को दखल देते समय और जिस विषय पर हम बात कर रहे हैं उसके परिचय के लिए बहुत विनम्र अनुरोध करते हुए प्रयोग करते हैं।

Polite request, interruption and introduction:  Use of 'Might' is considered very polite and we use it while making very polite requests, while interrupting someone and for introduction to a topic we are about to speak on.

Look at the examples:

क्या आज में एक चाय का कप ले सकता हूँ?	Might I have a cup of tea today?
क्या मैं प्रेस कॉन्फ्रेंस में एक सवाल पूछ सकता हूं?	Might I ask a question at the press conference?
बीच में बोलने के लिए क्षमा कीजिए, लेकिन क्या मैं पूछ सकता हूं कि शीना कैसे यहाँ नही है?	Sorry to interrupt, but might I ask how come Sheena is missing?
क्या मैं स्विमिंग पूल के निर्माण में खामियों पर आपका ध्यान आकर्षित कर सकता हूं?	Might I draw your attention to the flaws in the swimming pool construction?
