Direct-Indirect - Optative Sentences - इच्छासूचक वाक्य
Note-1 इच्छासूचक वाक्यों में अभिवादन, प्रार्थना या इच्छा व्यक्त की जाती है। इन्हें Indirect speech में बदलते वक्त 'said to' को निम्न शब्दों का प्रयोग करते हैं:
Good Morning / Good Evening / Good Noon / Good Afternoon = 'wished'
Good Night / Bye, Farewell = 'bade'
Quoma और Inverted Quomas (, & "...") के स्थान पर कुछ नही लगाते।

| उसने मुझसे कहा, "शुभ संध्या।" | उसने मुझे शुभ संध्या की कामना की। |
| He said to me, "Good morning, Sir." | He respectfully wished me good morning. |
| उसने मुझसे कहा, "सुप्रभात, सर।" | उसने आदरपूर्वक मुझे सुप्रभात की कामना की। |
| He said, "Good bye, friends!" | He bade the friends good bye. |
| उन्होंने कहा, "अलविदा, दोस्तों!" | उसने दोस्तों को अलविदा कह दिया। |

Note इन्हें Indirect speech में बदलते वक्त 'said to' के स्थान पर 'wished' का प्रयोग करते हैं।

| उसने मुझसे कहा, "काश आप उस समय यहां होते!" | उसने चाहा कि मैं उस समय वहाँ होता। |
| He said, "O that I had the wings of a bird!" | He wished that he had the wings of a bird. |
| उन्होंने कहा, "काश कि मेरे पास पक्षी के पंख होते!" | उसने चाहा कि उसके पास एक पक्षी के पंख होते। |
| She said, O for a cup of tea." | She wished for a glass of water. |
| उसने कहा, ओ एक कप चाय मिल जाए। " | उसने एक गिलास पानी की कामना की। |
